Verletzungen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Verletzungen geh\u00f6ren zum Leben dazu, vor allem, wenn dieses besonders aktiv verl\u00e4uft, oder aber der Patient mit zu wenig Vor\/Umsicht unterwegs ist. Vor allem auch der Jagdbetrieb stellt ein relativ hohes Verletzungspotential dar; hin und wieder kommt es leider auch vor, dass ein Jagdhund in der Aus\u00fcbung seiner Pflicht t\u00f6dlich verletzt wird. Eine gut gef\u00fcllte Erste-Hilfe-Tasche geh\u00f6rt in jeden Haushalt, egal ob f\u00fcr Mensch oder Tier. Gr\u00f6\u00dfere Ausfl\u00fcge unternehmen wir grunds\u00e4tzlich nicht ohne eine Mindestausstattung an Sanit\u00e4tsmaterial. Zus\u00e4tzlich erweisen sich, im Umgang mit Tieren, medizinische Grundkenntnisse als sehr n\u00fctzlich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex Parasiten<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zur Gesundheitsvorsorge z\u00e4hlt vor allem auch die regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Impfung des Weimaraners. Seine erste erh\u00e4lt er bereits ab der 8.Lebenswoche (Staupe,Leptoshirose,  Parvovirose, HCC [Hepatitis contagiosa canis]), welche dann in der 12. Lebenswoche mit einer Tollwutimpfung erweitert wird. Von nun an werden die Impfungen, je nach Pr\u00e4parat, alle ein- bis drei Jahre wiederholt. Genau so wichtig ist die regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Entwurmung, beginnend bereits im Welpenalter. Das Immunsystem der Welpen ist noch nicht ausreichend stark ausgebildet, entsprechend gro\u00df die Belastung des Welpen-Stoffwechsels. Die Prophylaxe vor Endoparasiten (Spul-, Haken- und Bandw\u00fcrmern sowie Giardien) ist abh\u00e4ngig vom Lebensumfeld bzw. Einsatzbereiches des Hundes. Als Faustregel gilt, je mehr Freigang in der Natur stattfindet, und je mehr Kontakt zu Wild und\/oder Aas gegeben ist, desto \u00f6fter sollte entwurmt werden. Ohne pr\u00e4ventiven Schutz (z.B. Floh- und Zeckenhalsb\u00e4nder) haben wir nach einem durchschnittlichen Sommertag  beim abendlichen Absuchen der Tiere schon bis zu 16 Zecken auf einem Hund gefunden! HD kann ab dem 12.Lebensmonat per R\u00f6ntgenbild diagnostiziert, dann zwar mit Schmerzmedikamenten gelindert, jedoch nicht dauerhaft geheilt werden. Zus\u00e4tzlich zur erblichen Veranlagung k\u00f6nnen auch \u00e4u\u00dfere Einfl\u00fcsse, wie \u00dcbergewicht und \u00dcberbeanspruchung eine HD bewirken. Dass man einen Junghund keinen Marathon am Fahrrad laufen lassen sollte, d\u00fcrfte einem der klare Menschenverstand sagen; in jedoch in Watte zu packen, d.h. die zur gesunden Entwicklung des Gelenke-Apparates notwendige Bewegung zu verwehren, ist nicht weniger sch\u00e4dlich. Der Hund zeigt einem schon, wenn er m\u00fcde ist, und solange darf er bei uns auch spielen, klettern und sonstigen interessanten Aktivit\u00e4ten nachgehen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zur allgemeinen Gesundheit tr\u00e4gt vor allem eine <strong><a aria-label=\" (\u00f6ffnet in neuem Tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/backcountry-expeditions.com\/weimaraner\/food\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gesunde Ern\u00e4hrung<\/a><\/strong> bei. Hartn\u00e4ckige Verschmutzungen und unangenehme Ger\u00fcche von Kot, Aas, und landwirtschaftlich eutrophierten &#8222;G\u00fclle-Seen&#8220; entferne ich mit <strong>Duschen<\/strong>. Dem Tier zuliebe duschen ich oft mit ihm zusammen, und verwende ausschlie\u00dflich Bio-Kindershampoo (noch sensibler als spezielles Hundeshampoo). Von Fr\u00fchjahr bis Herbst baden meine Hunde regelm\u00e4\u00dfig in der Elbe, das erspart uns einige Duschen. Je nach Aktivit\u00e4t und Angewohnheiten, kontrolliere ich die Ohren ca. 1 Mal pro Monat, und verwende zur Reinigung Wattest\u00e4bchen, zusammen mit einem angenehm duftenden Gel, welches vorher trockene Verunreinigungen l\u00f6st. Ohren d\u00fcrfen (nach einer Reinigung) nicht unangenehm riechen, andernfalls ist dies (in Verbindung mit h\u00e4ufigem Kratzen) ein Hinweis auf eine Entz\u00fcndung oder Parasitenbefall. W\u00e4hrend mein R\u00fcde nur 1x im Monat eine Ohrenpflege ben\u00f6tigt, waren die Ohren der H\u00fcndin immer schon nach wenigen Tagen v\u00f6llig verdreckt; diesbez\u00fcglich war sie mehr Schwein als Hund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Krallen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abh\u00e4ngig von Pfotenstellung und Aktivit\u00e4t, m\u00fcssen bei einem Weimaraner nicht nur die Pfoten auf Verletzungen kontrolliert, sondern auch die Krallen geschnitten werden. Mit einer <strong>Krallenzange<\/strong> schneidet man vorsichtig die Spitzen der Krallen, jedoch nie in den dunkelfarbigen Bereich (Blutgef\u00e4\u00dfe!). Zu lange Krallen k\u00f6nnen zu Fehlstellungen f\u00fchren, und schneller schmerzhaft einrei\u00dfen oder brechen. Als passionierter L\u00e4ufer ben\u00f6tigt mein R\u00fcde fast gar keine Krallenpflege (max. 1-2x j\u00e4hrlich), w\u00e4hrend sich meine wesentlich ruhigere H\u00fcndin von mir \u00f6fter die Krallen stutzen lassen musste. Bei aggressivem Untergrund (Streusalz oder scharfkantiges Lavagestein) kann der Einsatz von speziellen Hundeschuhen sinnvoll sein. Hier ist jedoch Vorsicht geboten, denn ohne Socken oder zus\u00e4tzliche Polsterung, f\u00fchrt das Tragen von Hundeschuhen nicht selten zu Scheuerstellen zwischen den Zehen. Angegriffene Pfoten k\u00f6nnen mit Melkfett oder Salben regeneriert werden; dies sollte jedoch nicht zu oft gemacht werden, um nicht die Empfindlichkeit der Pfote zu erh\u00f6hen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Z\u00e4hne<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die 28 Milchz\u00e4hne eines Welpen werden ab dem 3.-4.Lebensmonat nach und nach durch die zweiten 42 bleibenden Z\u00e4hne ersetzt; hierzu sollte dem Hund ausreichend Knabberspielzeug bereit gestellt werden. Zahnstein als Ursache von Zahnbelag (Plaque) muss, wenn entstanden, durch Abschaben, regelm\u00e4\u00dfig entfernt werden. Andernfalls kann es durch Ansammlung von Bakterien zu <strong>Parodontitis<\/strong> kommen, einer Entz\u00fcndung des Zahnhalteapparats mit folgeschweren weiteren Begleiterkrankungen. F\u00fcr das regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Z\u00e4hneputzen sind Hundezahnpasta mit Fleischgeschmack, Fingerlinge und Hundezahnb\u00fcrsten im Handel erh\u00e4ltlich. Ich jedoch nutze normale Zahncreme (nur extrem wenig) in Verbindung mit einer ausrangierten Zahnb\u00fcrste, d.h. keine speziellen Hundeartikel. F\u00fcr die Selbstreinigung der Z\u00e4hne f\u00f6rdere ich die Kauaktivit\u00e4t (Erh\u00f6hung des Speichelflusses), und f\u00fcttere t\u00e4glich mindestens eine Mohrr\u00fcbe. Alle meine Hunde waren\/sind immer ganz vernarrt in Karotten.
